How to set a number of displayed portfolio items (projects) on the page? (pagination problem)

Follow the next steps in order to setup a number of displayed portfolio items (projects) on the template page:

  1. Open your WordPress admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Settings > Reading (your_site.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php).
  3. Specify the number of portfolio items displayed using the "Blog pages show at most " option.
  4. Save changes.
  5. Check the result.

The described pagination problem occurs when you have a custom permalinks structure set in the WordPress admin Dashboard. These permalinks can be generated by some plugins installed.

  1. Follow the next steps in order to fix this issue (or determine the reason):
  2. Navigate to the Settings > Permalinks section.
  3. Choose the "Plain" option.
  4. Save changes.
  5.
  6. Check the pagination.
  7. Enable the previous Permalinks option back.
  8. Save changes.
  9. Check the result.

If you still get the same problem:

  1. Try to activate any official WordPress theme (Twenty Nineteen or Twenty Twenty) to make sure that the plugin is working correctly. Check the pagination.
  2. The conflict may be caused by one of the installed plugins. Please, deactivate all the plugins except Portfolio and then activate them one by one to find out the plugin that causes the conflict.
