How to remove certain pages from the sitemap?

In the free version of Sitemap you can exclude certain post types (pages or posts) and taxonomies (post categories or post tags) from your sitemap file. Go to plugin setting page, switch to the "Structure" tab and unmark the necessary checkboxes of post types and taxonomies which are not to be added to the sitemap.

Follow the next steps in order to remove certain pages from the sitemap file manually via FTP:

  1. Download and install FTP client (for example, Filezilla).
  2. Open FTP client and enter your FTP access credentials (host, username, and password) to access files on your server.
  3. Navigate to yourwordpresswebsite.com' directory.
  4. Find and open your sitemap file using any text editor (for example, Sublime Text).
  5. Remove necessary lines.
  6. Save changes.

Please be aware of the fact that after the next generation, these settings will be lost and you will have to edit sitemap file once again.
